TampaMystic sits down with Young Lye for an exclusive interview

YOUNG LYE PHOTO SHOOT BY RONNIE WRIGHT 166

[box_dark]1. What’s going on? Please introduce yourself and tell us where you’re from.[/box_dark]

My name is Jimmel Clarke aka Young Lye, I am 18 years old, and I was born and raised in the cradle of Hip-Hop the Bronx New York City from Jamaican parents.

[box_dark]2. When did you start rapping and who or what inspired you?[/box_dark]

I started rapping at the tender age of 3, and started performing at 5 years old in local churches around the tri-state area. My big sister Shari aka Silk was the first person to start teaching me how to rap, and all about the rich culture of Hip-Hop. My sister was a great rapper herself, one thing I remember that she did was to battle the MC Remy Ma on the corner of 183 street and Crotona ave in the Bronx N.Y., everyone in the crowd there said Silk killed it and won. If my sister didn’t pass away in a terrible car accident a few years ago, she would be very big in this rap game now. I miss her a lot and I must say Silk inspired me to be a part of this Hip-Hop culture today.

[box_dark]3. As an up and coming artist, do you find it difficult to maintain personal relationships while perusing your music career?[/box_dark]

I don’t find it hard with personal relationships, because my everyday life is Hip-Hop, everything in my life inspired me to write different stuff, so I welcome all my life stories to be apart of my rap culture.

[box_dark]4. Tell us something you enjoy doing [besides music] that most people don’t know.[/box_dark]

I like playing football a lot, basketball too, swimming in the summer time, I like driving around with my Stack Large Empire brothers talking to and picking up chicks, and last but not least, i like and look forward to going to my college classes a few days out of the week.

[box_dark]5. Currently, what project(s) are you working on?[/box_dark]

I am currently working on my debut album titled ”How You Like Me Now”. I named it that because of all the ups and downs people in this business of music, it should be released by late spring to early summer, some where around there. Also I have my latest mixtape dropping next month titled ”$tack$ 2 Large” vol 1.

[box_dark]6. What’s been the most memorable moment so far in your music career?[/box_dark]

When I was 9 years old, I was going on stage at the Famous Apollo Theater in Harlem N.Y.C., and as I was going on stage I had to rub my hands on the log before I performed, but the second I touched it something over whelmed me, and from that day on, I am most comfortable on stage performing more than anything or anywhere else.

[box_dark]7. What are your goals musically for 2014?[/box_dark]

I want to make great music so the massive of people can appreciate me when I am out on tour. Hopefully with my hard work and dedication this year, it will take me to the Grammy’s next year.

I also would like to Shout out my Dad JT, who started this business of music with all his kids, he got shot and robbed and is now living in a wheel chair, but he still does his best to help me with my music projects.

City Sparks

[box_dark]1. What’s going on? Please introduce yourself and tell us where you’re from.[/box_dark]
“I go by CitySparks. Producer, MC, film writer, Jedi Master lol. I’m representing the Westside of New Orleans.”

[box_dark]2. When did you start rapping and who or what inspired you?[/box_dark]
“I started rapping at the young age of 9. Due the abundance of my older siblings and cousins N.W.A. & Dr. Dre albums, my lyrics were a little too wild for my age lol. Some years later though the TV show entitled “The Box” played classics all day from cats like Black Moon, Slum Village, & Bahamadia. These people really played an important role in my upbringing and career as well and I’m determined to do music forever thanks to the essence.”

[box_dark]3. What project are you working on, or have recently dropped?[/box_dark]
“I recently dropped a 7 track EP titled L.E.P.W. (Live.Eat.Pray.Win.) last Thanksgiving. Compiled, feel good music that I felt was just something the real heads needed. All tracks produced by me. Available on Soundcloud, Audio Mack, & DatPiff.”

[box_dark]4. What’s been the most memorable moment in your music career?[/box_dark]
“Meeting Jay Electronica for the 1st time. Just his aura alone will embody the real definition of what a man and what a true artist should should stand for.”

[box_dark]5. Besides music, what else can we find CitySparks doing?[/box_dark]
“Soon I will be working with the homie Cesar’s sister, Ms. Tiffany Winter of Black Ink Crew on writing scripts, producing films under her new production company based out of Atlanta.”

[box_dark]6. In the coming months, what can we expect from you?[/box_dark]
“A follow up is now in process that will shine light more on my personal life, the introduction of my new label Corleone Music Group, and the bright/dark sides of growing up and trying to stay focused and alive on the Westside of New Orleans.”

TampaMystic sits down with Rip for an exclusive interview

Rip Photo shoot 042 (1)

[box_dark]What’s going on? Please introduce yourself and tell us where you’re from.[/box_dark]
Whats Good Misty, This Young Ripstarr most known by “Rip” out of M.I.A Dade County.

[box_dark]When did you start rapping/singing and who or what inspired you?[/box_dark]
Well I started off just as a songwrtiter by age 14, Then went into rapping a year later (age 15).
I just was playing around with it as a teen til I got a big break from local Newspaper company here
in Miami. They Entertainment Journalism heard my music playing outside my mom car and after
that they wanted to do a interview. That’s when I felt I had talent and then took my music
serious. As far who Inspired me I have to say to 2pac and Eazy-E because every word they
preach about in they raps I experinced it. It’s like they tell my life line and hopefully I’m doing
the same within my music to others. Oh and my son, He makes me go even harder to make sure he have more than I ever had.

[box_dark]What are you currently working on?[/box_dark]
Well I just drop my debut Mixtape “History Tape: Been In the Making for Years (Get it off ripthestreets.com). It’s a special project with few records I been recorded just had them on hold due to legal issues. Now I’m pushing that tape. Also I’m working on a Documentary with Key Footage films called “Life Of Young Ripstarr” bascially trying to get the fans and supporters a insight to know who I am as a person and artist.

[box_dark]What’s been the most memorable moment in your music career?[/box_dark]
Hmm, I got to say my first performance at club tuckers here in Miami. I was nervous.
I thought I were go choke LOL cause I said to myself if I froze up on stage that’s it.
Give it all up. But like any hungry artist I just gave it my best shot and let it ripp on stage.
I just seen the crowed vibe to my music shaking there head to the beat, it gave me confidence
after that I was turnt up LOL.

[box_dark]Besides music, what else can we find you doing?[/box_dark]
Besides Music, I spend most of my time with my son. Trying to be the Father I never to had
making sure he be level headed as he get older. I’m also considering, launching a foundation
for kids to prevent child abuse, child abduction, gun violence, and child molestaion because
I feel it’s must needed Now than ever.

[box_dark]In the coming months, what can we expect from you?[/box_dark]
New single coming soon for the ladies called “Freaky Side” Feat. a Hott Female artist from
Florida I’m not go say a name just know this artist making nosie Lol. Also I’m bout to drop
another tape called “illegal Muzik” which are just featuring other artist beats, something
like wayne and dedication series. After all that I’m be working on a mini tour for my single
“Freaky Side” and Ep which will Drop on Febuary.
