[LA BODEGA] QUARANTINE TALK: Brian Dalton

WELCOME TO La Bodega QUARANTINE TALK, WHERE WE’VE HELD VARIOUS CONVERSATIONS WITH ARTIST’S & GROUPS FROM AROUND THE WORLD VIA ZOOM, EMAIL, SOCIAL MEDIA EVEN PLAIN OLD PHONE CONVERSATIONS.

WELCOME TO THE 21ST EDITION OF La Bodega QUARANTINE TALK.
THE ARTIST WE HAVE TODAY IS BRIAN DALTON.
YOU CAN CHECK OUT OUR CONVERSATION DOWN BELOW.

SOMag: What is your Name? where you’re from and what first got you interested in the
entertainment industry?
BD: My name is Brian Dalton. I first got my interest in the entertainment industry from watching
my mother sing when I was growing up, then once I developed my own taste in
music I started imitating and following mostly rock bands.

SOMag?: Who and/or what inspires you to create?
BD: I get my inspiration from traveling mostly. I love going to places I’ve never been just to
experience something new and I’m very grateful for every new experience I’m able to have.

SOMag?: How would you describe your sound?
BD: My sound is mix between rock, pop, and synth wave.

SOMag?: What is your creative process like?
BD: Usually, it starts with just a melody created by either my producer or myself and then
through collaboration it’s built into an entire song.

SOMag?: What artist(s) would you like to collaborate with?
BD: I’d love to collaborate with multiple artists really. Metallica, Yungblud and The Midnight are
a few that come to mind.

SOMag?: What is one message you would give to your supporters?
BD: That we’re in all of this together. The whole crazy journey. I appreciate them so much and if
they ever need a hand in picking themselves back up, I hope I can be there to provide that
for them.

SOMag?: What is the most talent/skill you have that most people don’t know about?
BD: My most hidden ability is that I can travel through MOST walls. Granted I have to be
traveling at an extreme rate of speed and I’m almost always injured afterward, but I can
travel through most walls.
What would you be doing right now, if you weren’t doing music?
If I wasn’t pursuing the music dream, I’d probably be doing something that still involved
traveling. Like scuba diving or something in the medical field.

SOMag?: Who are some artists/people you admire and why?
BD: I’d have to say that I admire any artist/band that has made a career in music. You’re told
“no” so often in this business that it can take a really long time to get a “yes” from anyone,
and having an actual career requires A LOT of yeses. So to anyone who has put in the work
and stuck it out long enough to “make it”: You have my admiration and respect.

The best advice I’ve heard came from a movie: “Life’s not about how hard you can hit. It’s
about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.”

Brian Dalton When Asked What Is The Best Advice You’ve Been Given?

SOMag?: If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
BD: Payment for the artists. Whether it be the amount earned per stream (normally half a penny
or less) or the amount the crooks running most major labels take out of their artists earnings
before they actually pay them (normally 85% or more).

SOMag?: What’s next for you, where would you like to see yourself in the next year?
BD: In the next year I’d like to be signed to a respectable and ethical indie label touring
worldwide. My PR team and I are working on that now.

SOMag?: What is your social media? How can people get in contact with you?
BD: You can find me at.

[LA BODEGA] QUARANTINE TALK: FOIVOS

WELCOME TO La Bodega QUARANTINE TALK, WHERE WE’VE HELD VARIOUS CONVERSATIONS WITH ARTIST’S & GROUPS FROM AROUND THE WORLD VIA ZOOM, EMAIL, SOCIAL MEDIA EVEN PLAIN OLD PHONE CONVERSATIONS.

WELCOME TO THE 21ST EDITION OF La Bodega QUARANTINE TALK.
THE ARTIST WE HAVE TODAY IS FOIVOS FROM Greece.
YOU CAN CHECK OUT OUR CONVERSATION DOWN BELOW.

Live Performance

SOMag: What are your Names? where you’re from and what first got you interested in the
entertainment industry?
F: My name is Foivos Zacharopoulos and I’m from Greece. I actually wasn’t thinking of
becoming a professional musician. I was proposed to substitute a guitarist at the age of
sixteen, just for a month, and that was it. I was fortunate and capable enough to do a good
job, so I was offered a place in the band. After 22 years, the story goes on.

SOMag: Who and/or what inspires you to create?
F: Inspiration can be found everywhere, as long as you keep your mind open. So, it’s not a
certain thing that gets me inspired. It can be literally anything.

SOMag: How would you describe your sound?
F: I remember John Petrucci saying for one album Dream Theater recorded, that he wanted his
sound to be, like a three-floor chocolate cake, with melted chocolate in between. Couldn’t
describe it better. Just huge and sweet.

SOMag: What is your creative process like?
F: Depends on the mood. Sometimes, I get a melody stuck in my head, so I go and record it
and go from there. There are times when I just fool around with a sound, and a riff comes
out or a chord progression. Usually, it’s a sound, which gets me in the zone of creation, from
any instrument.

SOMag: What artist(s) would you like to collaborate with?
F: Sting is at the top of that list. His music is so versatile and interesting for anyone who plays
music or just loves listening to.

SOMag: What is one message you would give to your supporters?
F: Keep supporting bands and musicians that you enjoy their music. It’s the only way for any of
them, to keep doing what they love and also gives courage to new musicians and bands to
start doing what they want the most. To play music.

SOMag: What is the most talent/skill you have that most people don’t know about?
F: Well, I can cook really well. The whole process of cooking a meal, is quite relevant to a
creation of a song. You have to have quality products, and everything must be in the right
quantity. Also give time and love. It always has better and satisfying results..

SOMag: What would you be doing right now, if you weren’t doing music?
F: I have no idea. I can’t imagine myself doing something different than being a musician.
Perhaps something that might involve animals and protecting or caring them.

SOMag: Who are some artists/people you admire and why?
F: I admire any artist that innovates in his field, or tries to think outside of the box and
experiment with his art. From Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin to Meshuggah and Pain of
Salvation, the list goes on and on..

Be patient and don’t rush things. And always speak up for myself, whenever I feel wronged
in any way.

Foivos when asked What is the best advice you’ve been given?

SOMag: If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
F: From the very moment that something gives you profit, problems start to appear. The more
profit, the more people are drawn to it. The more people usually mean, not loving music or
the product in general, but the money that comes from it. So, I’d change the people that
have no interest in music, with some that do have some interest and love music first and
foremost.

SOMag: What’s next for you, where would you like to see yourself in the next year?
F: If all goes well, with the Covid (Quarantine) situation, start performing live and communicate my music,
as much as possible, is the number one priority. In one year from now, I’d like to see myself
recording a full album and then go touring for a long time..

SOMag: What is your social media? How can people get in contact with you?

[LA BODEGA] QUARANTINE TALK: immortalizer

WELCOME TO QUARANTINE TALK, WHERE WE’VE HELD VARIOUS CONVERSATIONS WITH ARTIST’S & GROUPS FROM AROUND THE WORLD VIA ZOOM, EMAIL, SOCIAL MEDIA EVEN PLAIN OLD PHONE CONVERSATIONS.

WELCOME TO THE 20TH EDITION OF QUARANTINE TALK.
THE ARTIST WE HAVE TODAY IS IMMORTALIZER FROM Ontario, Ottawa.
YOU CAN CHECK OUT OUR CONVERSATION DOWN BELOW.

Who Is Immortalizer?

SOMag: What are your Names? where you’re from and what first got you interested in the
entertainment industry?
I: My name is Dave D.R. I’m originally from Ottawa, Ontario. My interest in music began when I was
very young, My uncle was a professional drummer in the 80’s and 90’s and he was a huge influence
on me, By the time I was 7 years old I knew music was my path in life.

SOMag: Who and/or what inspires you to create?
I: I find inspiration everywhere. From my past, day to day life, horror films, literature, and the list goes
on. I like to write about things I’ve experienced first hand, but I’ll write songs about anything of
interest.

SOMag: How would you describe your sound?
I: I think the best way to describe it is classic style Heavy Metal, with a bit of contemporary Metal
mixed in as well.

SOMag: What is your creative process like?
I: Most of the time everything begins with me jamming on guitar. I’ll just be improvising and suddenly
I’ll play a riff that really stands out and as I play I start to get ideas for lyrics and the full
orchestration. I later use those as a guide when I’m recording. Sometimes a cool bass riff or
keyboard riff can start things off as well. It’s one of the upsides of being a multi-instrumentalist.

SOMag: What artist(s) would you like to collaborate with?
I: I would love to collaborate with Ralf Scheepers, Rob Halford, Biff Byford, Kai Hansen, Andi Deris,
Steve Harris, Michael Schenker and several others!

SOMag: What is one message you would give to your supporters?
I: Thank you so much for supporting Immortalizer. It’s Metalheads like you that help keep me going
and I’m extremely grateful to you all! \m/

SOMag: What is the most talent/skill you have that most people don’t know about?
I: That’s a good question. I consider music to be my greatest talent/skill of course, but aside from
music I think I would have to say my drawing ability. I’ve always loved to draw. I love designing
album covers and I design my tattoos as well.

SOMag: What would you be doing right now, if you weren’t doing music?
I: I think I would probably be making films. I’ve always loved movies and I considered a career in film. I
even went to film school for a short time before permanently setting my sights on music.

SOMag: Who are some artists/people you admire and why?
I: I greatly admired Lemmy of Motörhead. His I live my life my way attitude always resonated with me.
I also greatly admired his distinctive bass playing style and his song writing ability. I also greatly
admire Ralf Scheepers. His passion for Metal is truly inspiring. Not to mention his legendary vocal
ability. He is one of the best Metal singers of all time in my opinion.
Rob Halford is definitely another person I greatly admire. For his incredible vocal talents and his
courage. It took a lot of guts to be one of the first openly gay Metal stars despite the risks to his
career. The full list would be far too long, but I’d say those are the top three.

SOMag: What is the best advice you’ve been given?
I: I think the best advice I’ve ever been given came from my uncle Paul when I was a kid. He told me to
never give up on my dreams and to not listen to anyone who tries to put you down and tell you you
can’t succeed in music.

SOMag: If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
I: Hmmm, that’s a tough one. I would love to see more music venues, (bars and music halls) opening
back up and having live music so bands have more places to play live.

SOMag: What’s next for you, where would you like to see yourself in the next year?
I: Well, I plan to continue writing and recording my full-length album as I search for the right label and
management company to help propel Immortalizer to new heights! By this time next year I hope to
have finished the album and found a band to be able to play shows and tour as well as grow as a
band.

SOMag: What is your social media? How can people get in contact with you?
I: You can find Immortalizer on Facebook and Twitter, as well as iTunes, Spotify and SoundCloud. (See

Who Is Bags The Boss?

SOMag: What is your Name? Where you’re from and what first got you interested in the entertainment industry?
BAGS THE BOSS: My name is Bags The Boss and I’m from Southside Jamaica Queens. What got me interested in music were my friends. They used to play rap music around me everyday. I liked it so much I ended up trying to imitate it. After that, I started writing about my own experiences.

SOMag: Who and/or what inspires you to create?
B. Anything can inspire me. I could be walking down the street, see a dope car and get inspired. I could trip and fall down while taking a walk. I’m inspired! (laughs). Literally anything.

SOMag: How would you describe your sound?
B. I would say my sound is more motivational and sharing person experiences.

SOMag: What is your creative process like?
B. All I need is a dope beat that I feel like writing to.  I go off of the vibe so that I’m not forcing anything. There are some days I might not have anything. Then some days I cant stop.

SOMag: What artist(s) would you like to collaborate with?
B. Rick Ross, Jim Jones, and Drake.

SOMag: What is one message you would give to your supporters?
B. Keep supporting, I got a long way to go.

SOMag: What is the most talent/skill you have that most people don’t know about?
B. I record all my records, I make all my artwork and I’ve edited some of my videos.

SOMag: What would you be doing right now, if you weren’t doing music?
B. Probably designing clothes and putting all my time into that.

I admire my father for his work ethic and foolish pride.  I admire anyone with the balls to go after what they want.

Bags The Boss

SOMag: What is the best advice you’ve been given?
B. Save your money. We end up spending money on the wrong things most of the time.

SOMag: If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
B. I’d change streaming. What they don’t tell you is that streaming payouts are low which and why they vary from service to service.

SOMag: What’s next for you, where would you like to see yourself next year?
B. I would love to reach the next level of my career. Making moves and continuing to push forward.

SOMag: What is your social media? How can people get in contact with you?
B.@Bagstheboss on everything 🙏🏽

DJ: What is your creative process like?
Zumbi: Well either Jerry or Jason gives me beats to see if I am feeling any of them and I see what
is touching my soul. I pick out the ones I can write to then begin with the writing process, then Jerry start’s adding the guitar, bass and other instruments. Then I go to the studio to do the vocals and finish up the track, its pretty cool.

[La Bodega] Quarantine Talk: LUPE

Welcome to the New Installments of Quarantine Talk, where we’ve held various conversations with artist’s & groups from around the world via Zoom, Email, Social Media even plain old phone conversations.

We were previously on the 16th edition but due to cyber hacking by a group of web hackers, all of our published web content & website was removed and deleted permanently. But thanks to our amazing web server admin we are back in full swing! The artist we have today is LUPE from Athens Greece. You can check out our conversation down below.

WHO IS LUPE?

DJ GOJABEAN: What is your stage name? Tell me where you’re from and what first got you interested in
the entertainment industry?

LUPE: My name is Michalis Latousakis (Lupe), I’m from Athens, Greece and the main factor that got me into the music industry was my need for expression.

DJ: Who and/or what inspires you to create?
LUPE: My thoughts and feelings about life, humanity and every kind of love.

DJ: How would you describe your sound?
LUPE: The sound is based on dark alternative and art rock. The deep, theatrical and wide-
ranged vocals along with the confessional lyricism and the dark sound make up the
obvious characteristic of the Lupe project.

DJ: What is your creative process like?
LUPE: I just record a piano progression spontaneously which express my thoughts and feelings.
Accompany that with a vocal melody and I write all the other instruments. Then I finally add my vocals to finish it out.

DJ: What is one message you would give to your supporters?
LUPE: The music industry is more plastic, and unreal. This is because technology has advanced so much. This is a great development. Let’s combine it with more human touch!

DJ: What is the most talent/skill you have that most people don’t know about?
LUPE: I am a breakdance dancer and a bridge player

DJ: What would you be doing right now, if you weren’t doing music?
LUPE: It is hard and a little painful to think that! Anything where I am able to express myself. I would go through a different type of art like dance or theatre.

I admire David Bowie for his multifaceted and diverse music career.

LUPE on which artist(s) he admires

IN CLOSING

DJ: What is the best advice you’ve been given?
LUPE: Always choose your partners & colleagues wisely.

DJ: If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
LUPE: I believe that music and all forms of art have the role to give food for thought and provide
people with stimuli that has to do with self development. Today, the industry is just following trends instead of making a statement. Not really if at all and engaging with the fans. This needs to change.

DJ: What’s next for you and where would you like to see yourself in the next year?
LUPE: The next step for me is the promotion of the 2nd album Dark Room which has just
been released! The next year I would like to take part in big festivals and release my
next album.
