T-Quest Music Review: RapCrush

T-Quest Music Review: RapCrush I recently had the please to listen to the newest project by RapCrush titled “Maybe You’re Just Not Her” and let me tell you now that it’s in heavy rotation! It sounds like RapCrush’s new album really hit the mark! I love that it blends east coast rap vibes with a bit of island influence and storytelling—there’s something about that mix of poetry and rhythm that makes it feel so authentic. The fact that it balances upbeat tracks with mellow ones gives it such a dynamic range too. I want you to listen to the project and let me know what’s your favorite track so far?

In the meantime, check out this interview below to get to know RapCrush!

Q&A WITH RAPCRUSH

What is your Name? Tell our readers where you’re from and what first got you interested in the entertainment industry? My name is Kanesha Carter I always loved music every since a young girl. I always been into art in general anything with creating was my interest. Not to mention my dad was a rapper so I already just had the artistry in my bloodline.

How long have you been making music? I have been making music for 18 years now.

How would you describe your sound? I would describe my sound as hip-hop but soulful mixed with R&B sound. Its like mixing Lauryn Hill with a 2025 style.

NEW MUSIC INCOMING

What’s the name of the current project you’re pushing and what’s the inspiration behind it? My new project is called Maybe You’re Just Not Her. I was inspired to write this project because as a woman and artist in general, I love to implement my creativity. But not only that but also my real life experiences. I wanted to put out a project that shows growth, woman empowerment and love all mixed together.

What do you want your fans to take from this particular project? I want my fans to see the growth but not only that I want my fans to feel good after listening to this project. Its definitely a experience you get to hear almost every style of music within 6 songs which is very unique in different in my opinion and not only that every song was written by me.

Do you have any visuals or are some on the horizon? Yes I have a visualizer to my new song off my project called Eat your soul which will drop on my YouTube channel on Valentines Day. There will also be visuals dropping consistently throughout the whole year of 2025 which is so exciting to me.

What do you feel is needed in today’s hip-hop? Just a lil bit more of the soft, feminine side. Not going to say the masculine is not needed cause one as a artist well just a person in general should have that balance but the world is missing soulful music I mean I only can hear it through old school music or underground music. So yes I feel like more soulful music should be pushed more through mainstream media. Hopefully one day.

IN CONCLUSION

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be? Literally just a more
balanced space of music. Like I said in the previous question people need to hear more then just the trap the lit music the world needs more soulful music in general not only just soulful, but people being more comfortable with expressing their true honest emotions and not Egotism.

What is one message you would give to your supporters? Thank for supporting me forever! Its been a journey and for my new supporters baby, you ain’t seen nothing yet! I am coming through these doors original and beautiful this will something you never experienced.

What’s next for you, where would you like to see yourself in the next year? Its crazy cause I see myself doing so much.. Acting definitely and still making music. Hopefully I wanna get back to writing, maybe write a book. I also love speaking so definitely podcasting and maybe speaking worldwide.

What is your social media? How can people get in contact with you?
