[La Bodega] Philly Artist Pieri releases “KITICAN”

pieri kitican

Pieri is a new kind of Latin Pop star, offering a fresh and forward thinking perspective on the femme Latin pop icon. Her music pulls from the sounds in her life, from the Cumbia of her native town San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, to the futuristic and gritty reggaeton of the Spanish underground club circuit. Drawing on this diverse melting pot of influences and with one eye on the latest surge of Latin-American artists, Pieri’s art focuses on the future and what a Latina Pop Star can be.

Now based in Philadelphia, in late 2019 she teamed up with local producer El Grillo, creating “Pa Q lo Sientas” (So You Feel It. Her single made a splash in the local music scene where reggaeton has hardly been represented and she quickly rallied local support. In the wake of the release, Pieri expanded her team to include stylist Lili Burch to develop her image along with her sound as she continues to work on her debut EP, scheduled for release in the summer of 2020.

Pieri’s highly anticipated single, “Kitican” – a theatrical and explosive take on reggaeton – was released on May 8th, 2020, accompanied by a video produced by Powered by Wind.
