We welcome you back to the #SaturdaySpotlight where Hip-Hop is both celebrated and captured and this week, SKYPP is in our crosshairs as the Indiana MC released his first project of 2021 King of Indiana.
The artist, producer and songwriter is riding an immense wave of notoriety. From appearances on WHHH Hot 96.3 and news features on WTHR 13 NBC, Skypp is becoming more than just a household name in the Circle City Hip-Hop scene, but more of the standard of what an established independent artist looks like.
Under his Sophisticated Street Music label, Skypp has a total of 16 projects in his catalog with KOI releasing on Thursday. His unique delivery and razor-sharp lyricism has warranted him critical acclaim with every release he has done as of late. His previous projects “The Ghetto Mr. Rogerz” & “U4U” snatched Top Ten numbers on both iTunes & Amazon upon their debuts. KOI is following suit as in just two days of its release, it has secured Top 15 spots on both music platforms!
KOI boasts 20 tracks in total and features tracks with fellow Naptown MC RhymeFest & Swoe Whoa. Track number 10 titled Sundown Town, USA he flexes over the track effortlessly while ascending the ranks as the royal standard in Midwest Hip-Hop. Skypp paints a vivid picture with his lyrics and unlike his competition, he doesn’t have to be profane to do so. He only just needs to be profound.
