(Interview) The T-Quest Show Candace Woodson

Candace Woodson

Timeless music is what I think about when I think of Candace Woodson’s music. Before we get into that, let’s focus on her as a woman. When we first started our interview she came on the air very vibrant and actually started singing which was unexpected yet delightful.  First impression is everything and she stole my heart immediately. Candace is energetic, knowledgeable and has a true passion for what she does as a music artist. Being a diverse artist works in her favor. Being a well known seasoned artist is a bonus.

Growing up singing in the church like many entertainers in our culture, Candace started out singing with her sisters. In reference to The Jackson 5, she was like the Michael of the group. She wanted to be in the front and always knew she wanted to be a singer. She couldn’t get away from entertaining, and most importantly entertaining the people.

As music artists we’re always inspired by our own stories or of others around us. A tragedy happened to one of Candace’s friends where he lost his life. A providing father of 5 young children whose focus was working hard & making his family as comfortable as possible. His situation made Candace question, “What happens to those 5 little kids now that their father is gone? What’s the most important thing in life? Is it things, money or is it love in the house & love we have for each other?”  There’s nothing better than love. What’s important is the little things like a smile on your face. This story inspired her to write her single “Nothing Better”.

Take some time to listen to our interview and fall in love with her as well as her music just like I did. Please stream her music especially her latest songs What Do The Lonely Do & Nothing Better, and follow her on all social media platforms under @CandaceWoodson & Candace Woodson Music. www.CandaceWoodson.com

(Interview) The T-Quest Show: Jessie Tylre Williams

Jessie Tylre Williams
What an absolute pleasure chatting it up  with t Djs. She has such a calming loving spirit that lights up a room but in this case, a conversation. She’s all about having fun, spreading positivity in life as well as in her music.
Born in Manitoba, Canada, this gypsy girl is ready to “heal the world, one song at a time.” SSM country artist Jessie Tylre Williams is dedicated to the simple lifestyle and wants listeners to remember to take challenges one day at a time.
A beautiful soul producing beautiful music. During the interview we converse about so much that time flew by very quickly. They say, time flies when you’re having fun. Missing the intimacy with her audience as an entertainer is what she misses so much. People will never forget how you make you feel and that’s so important to her.
Her single Breathe came out at the best time ever! It was important to her to release it  because it coincides with everything that’s going on globally. The more the pandemic creates all this buzz, the more powerful the song is. There’s a lot in life that we can’t control. Sometimes we just need to take a step back and breathe. We become so consumed with stuff that’s going one that it’s creating chaos which is toxic. If you take a step back from everything, take a moment to breathe, a lot of it will dissipate and it won’t become as important to us to create that drama around it.
Breathe is out on all streaming platforms like the rest of her music so please go check it out under Jessie Tylre Williams, her website www.jessie-williams.com and follow her on Instagram @JessieTylre. Check out our interview below so you can hear more about the wonderful, amazing yet gifted Jessie Tylre Williams.

The Quest Chronicles: Dope Artists

As a tastemaker in the music and entertainment industry I come across a lot of people; artists in particular. When it comes to interviewing them and critiquing their music, I never know what is going to happen. They come to me to get my honest opinion on their music so I give them exactly that. I must say that I’ve been quite impressed with the artists I’ve come in contact with lately. Their music has been great!

I can hear the passion in their songs which puts a smile on my face. You can tell many of them have natural talent and have taken time to perfect their songs. This is something recently that has been lacking in the hip hop as well as the r&b community. What has really caught my attention more is the way they present and carry themselves during our interviews. They either have an interesting backstory that is intriguing and or have the right team who’s put them through artists development so they know how to talk to industry cats properly.

Either way whatever is happening, I pray it continues because this is what I have been desiring and loving. Not only as a radio personality, a journalist, a fellow artist myself but as well as a consumer, I’m here for it all. Let’s keep the music alive, produce great content, stay true to self and professional at all times. This is Ms Gotta Love Me T-Quest & you’ve just been Questified! The Quest Chronicles: Lyrical Energy

There’s a lot of things in life that we may disagree on but when it comes to music I’m pretty sure we agree that it has a major effect on us. I’m not talking about listening to songs speaking about shooting and killing & then we go out and reenact the lyrics in real life but more on the lines of music affecting our energy.

When listening to certain songs we tend to connect to the lyrics because many of us may have gone through or gone through what the artist is speaking about. So when we turn on certain songs, we do it because that’s what we’re feeling at that time. If someone is going through a break up or found new love, I’m sure their music selections in those particular moments are different. When you want to wine down for the day or turn up for the night, you tend to play a certain type of playlist.

Recently, it hasn’t been the music that I’ve been connecting to; it’s more of certain lyric phrases that’s been descriptions of how I’ve been feeling. For example, Kendrick Lamar ” Please don’t kill my vibe” & Lil Duval ” Living my best life, I ain’t going back & forth with you people!” These two lines in particular have been ringing in my head every time I’m in an intense conversation with certain people. Pretty much saying, “look, I don’t have time for your negative energy. I’m good over here to go elsewhere with all of that!” Now my QUESTion for you is, what songs and or lyrics have  you been connecting to lately? Please don’t be shy and comment below.

The Quest Chronicles: Feel The Rhythm

When you hear music, you can’t help but to gravitate to it whether you start singing the words, dancing to the beat and just get lost in the moment. Me personally, I  just be dancing, moving my body, bopping to a beat that doesn’t exist to the world. People be having the puzzle look on trying to figure out what I’m listening to and in reality, I’m listening to absolutely nothing. You don’t see any headphones, Bluetooth or music playing because there is none. I just dance to my own beat. I be on a natural high, full of life that my body just be moving.

The main reason why I stay dancing is because I’m a happy person. I control my energy, I control the space I desire to be in and I have full control over ME! Many of us allow people to tank our vibe. Throughout the day someone is always mad at somebody about something. Maybe something they’ve done, said or whatever. Don’t get me wrong, this happens to me too but after I have my small moment of being annoyed; I’ll handle the situation and keep it moving.

Dwelling on something that’s not that relevant is a waste of time. time waits for no man and I will not allow someone to waste my time. That’s when I remember what’s important, regroup and go about my day. A lot of the things I say is easier said than done but it still has to be said. There’s nothing wrong with reminders. What I write is like blog affirmations so pay attention, apply and start dancing to your own beat. trust me, you’ll enjoy it!

T-Quest Music Review: Mellahnix

Music Review

Recording artist Mellahnix has a subtitle “Mr. Sp8ce Rap” and  that’s the exact vibe I felt when listening to his music. I’ve had the opportunity of listening to his newest EP “Either Love Me or Leave Me” & here’s my review. I noticed his songs are the newest average length. If you’ve been paying attention to music today especially in the hip hop r&b genres, you notice many songs are now between 2:30-3:30 mins long.  Society’s attention span has changed but marketing wise, it’ll work in his favor because that length is trending. After listening to his EP, I have to give him props because you can tell he stays true to himself, he stays in his lane & gives you nothing but originality.

First track had a familiar sample that drew me in immediately. It was an old school New Edition vibe with a revamped feel; almost poetic like. The 2nd track had a bop to it. I can see the crowd chanting the hook Ac Capella style at a show. I can even visualize a band beyond him rocking out to it. As stated earlier, he is Mr. Space Rap and you can truly hear that in track number 3. Let’s not stop there because when you get into the next track, you’ll feel as if you were watching a dramatic movie, from the beat to the ad libs. All I can say is grab your popcorn. Mellahnix brings it home with track 5. In my opinion it was a rap song but more on the poetic side but it works for him.

All I can say is, congratulations on the new project. His music is different, unique and may not be for everyone but that’s OK. As an artist you have to stay true to who you are, your lane and your fans will gravitate to you. If you’re ready to open your ears to something new and different, I encourage you to take a listen to Mellahnix‘s new project “Either Love Me or Leave Me” which is available on all major streaming platforms and please follow him on IG @mellahnix777.

The Quest Chronicles: What Just Happened?

I remember people used to call me bipolar because I would switch up on them real quick. One moment I could be smiling and then the next moment I could be upset. Now, I do not condone anyone making fun of anyone with a special condition but this is just what they would call me. I must admit I would switch up on people but with good reason.

Growing up alone, I stay having more thoughts in my head than the average. I could experience a situation, fix the problem in my head then react differently very quickly. There’s a lot going on in this world to dwell on certain things too long. If I’m having a conversation with someone and they make me upset, I take a moment to process as many should. The next time they speak to me they may think i’ll still be upset then surprisingly realize that I was completely fine.

Many situations don’t deserve too much energy and that’s a problem for a lot of people. Now, there are times where you want to be petty because people are pissing you off and I’ve had moments like that but then turn into an adult and dead the situation. Sometimes my actions may freak people out which is quite comical to me. I’m just realistic to reality.

We spend so much time dwelling on nonsense and I refuse to do that. Have your moment, learn your lesson and move on. Easier said than done as usual but still have to be said. Life is turn, time is precious, use it wisely. This is Ms Gotta Love Me T-Quest & you’ve just been Questified! Show love by commenting, sharing & following me on social media @TQuestGLM

The Quest Chronicles: The Secure Man

Topic: The Secure Man

Dating should be fun but it’s hard for many people. Trying to date while in the entertainment industry is even harder. Being a socialite, public figure or someone who is very easy on the eye attracts attention too.

With that being said, when trying to date someone who is popular you have to be aware that it comes with many factors that most can’t handle. I myself as a popular public figure can’t be with an insecure man. Even when it comes to talking to guys on a regular level; there’s stipulations that comes with that as well.

When you’re not officially in a relationship or dating exclusively, you have to know that there may be others in the picture. That’s not a bad thing nor should you make someone feel as if their doing something wrong for giving more than one person some attention.

Not saying I encourage people to sleep with everyone their talking to. All I’m saying is, in order to find who’s right for you; you have to give the options a chance. If i’m conversing with a guy, he must know that he may not be the only guy i’m talking to but may have my attention the most.

Once I feel that the situation is something I want to explore and make exclusive then in that moment is when the others will slowly get cut off. I try my best to be open & honest with everyone I’m talking to or whatever so there’s no gray area. I am a woman who knows what she wants, needs and desire.

If you ask me a question, be prepared for a real answer. If you’re tying to date me or any other woman like myself, if you’re not secure enough to handle what comes along with the journey then save yourself the embarrassment and make room for the man who’s suppose to be there.
