The end is here.
11 years and 22 films later, the end of an era in cinema has arrived. Marvel Studios released the anticipated conclusion to The Avengers saga with Avengers:Endgame last Friday. Not since Avengers: Infinity War being released almost a year ago has a movie engaged fans on such an epic scale.
As both a nerd and a movie fan, this was an experience that I would not cheapen through firesticks and YouTube videos. I was able to score tickets in Indianapolis as my attempts to do so while in Atlanta this weekend were unsuccessful.
To say that Avengers: Endgame did well on opening night is gross understatement as within six hours of it’s release, the box office hit made $1.5 billion! Fans came out in droves as they have had almost a calendar year to collect themselves post “The Snap” and find out what the Avengers will do to reverse what Thanos did in Infinity War.
Endgame is a film that will cap over two decades of some of the best storytelling that you will ever witness in cinema. To be able to weave a tapestry of both captivating characters and diverse story lines is a feat that The Russo Brothers have down to a science. While three hours seems like an eternity in a theater, true fans of Marvel will appreciate the time spent as they will dazzle us like only Marvel can.
