It took one tweet and all hell broke lose for Chrisette Michele today. Questlove tweeted “I’d pay Chrisette to NOT perform” and that was all she wrote, no pun intended. With the inauguration literally around the corners, the crooner’s camp tried to keep the info under wraps, but somehow it seeped out, pun intended. According to the Daily News, Michele made the deal a week ago to sing at the inauguration and was first asked Michele to perform the song “Intentional” with singers Travis Greene, Jonathan McReynolds and Tye Tribbett, but the deal fell through. Chrisette agreed to sing, but only if she could perform R&B. Her fans were definitely not happy and even threatened to “remove her from their playlists.” Instagrammers took part in the online bash as well. We can see why her camp wanted to keep it a secret after Jennifer Holiday was slammed and allegedly received death threats.
