Shy Class is a dynamic new Emcee hailing from the Midwest who is steadily dominating the national underground hip-hop scene. Growing up in a variety of locales across the country, Shy Class’s delivery is as diverse as her upbringing. Hailing from “Naptown” Indiana, she bounced back and forth from Texas to California with her dad. Reminiscent of southwestern legends such as Lil Boosie, or even Yo Gotti, Shy Class spits with the maturity and relatability of a rap veteran while maintaining her class and sex appeal. Shy Class has spent 2016 conquering regional and local showcases and competitions as well as being featured as an opening act for major recording artist Lil Boosie plus positioning herself to embark on other nationally marketed tours in 2017. Shy Class has also released her debut EP “NEXT UP” and premiere single “Waves” this year on national radio stations this fall, and for ShyClass’s fanbase, the project couldn’t come sooner. Met with a strong reception, “NEXT UP” is more than just a title but a statement of truth. I had a chance to ask the young queen a few questions via email…

Who are your musical influences?

Lauryn Hill, Jay – Z and Cassidy

If you could compare yourself to and already established artist, who would that be and why?

T.I. Because of his music and business ethic plus, he’s very family oriented like me.

Who are your hero’s?

My two wonderful children

What do you feel your fans get out of your music?

A breath of fresh air, a true, raw story of a diamond in the rough.

What were you thinking about when the “NEXT UP” mixtape was finished?

I was thinking about what I’d wear to the BET Awards.

What made you want to get into the music business?

Music is therapy, and I love creating and meeting other people with similar dreams and goals.

What do you think about the music scene in your area or state?

I believe it’s a great platform to start off from. A  great home base to build and grow as an artist

How do you feel about the current music coming out?

Most of it is simplified for those with short attention spans.

What do you hope to accomplish with your music as an artist?

I pray to build a solid foundation for my family. I want them that it is possible to be able to grasp and hold on your dreams and reach your goals. I want to help children all over the world.

Make sure you head to Spinrilla and download the “NEXT UP” mixtape now!
