@DJMALONEPRO & @STR8OFFICAL MAG PRESENTS 10 ESSENTIAL @KENDRICKLAMAR TRACKS
A big thanks to DJ Malone for this weeks essential 10 piece, Kendrick Lamar. The Compton rapper took the world by storm beginning with his major label debut, good kid, m.A.A.d city, released in 2012, and he’s continued to blow our minds. The lyricist has been criticized for some of his performances, one being the 2015 BET Awards, “This is why I say that hip-hop has done more damage to young African-Americans than racism in recent years. This is exactly the wrong message,” Rivera said when touching on this “Alright” line: “And we hate po-po/ Wanna kill us dead in the street, fo sho.” And again in 2016, he was censored by CBS during his Grammy performance. KDot has made “conscious” rap mainstream again, and we’re all here for it. Check out Malone’s list below and #10 on via YouTube.
