[FEATURE] Hip Hop in more ways than one: Cife Man
Born Kerven Chery in Port Au Prince, Cife Man as he is known professionally is a Brooklyn based MC representing Beekay Entertainment. His journey in music began organically at the lunch room tables in High School, the exact place that birthed many legendary figures in the Hip Hop culture. Showcasing his talent for all of those whom would listen, Cife Man found his place as a lyricist knowing that he had the bars it took to control a crowd. As his interest in the art and culture grew, so did his passion for the elements and the genre that he would come to know as rap. Studying what it took to be a supreme contributor Cife Man began penning actual songs, learning what bars and cadences meant and the importance within the finished product.
His influences are widespread encompassing both Hip Hop and reggae music. Artists such as Buju Banton, Beanie Man, Elephant Man, Wu-Tang, Redman, Busta Rhymes, Jay Z, Nas, and The Notorious B.I.G are whom he spent his younger days listening to and supporting. Respecting their ability to deliver reality based content, Cife Man began to emulate that exact approach and later on when he would dive in professionally he would make it a point to reflect on his standing as a husband, father, son, and hustler.
Utilizing one of his greatest strengths, his voice, Cife Man has become a regular on the Rotten Apple indie scene. As a performer he is well regarded for going above and beyond when delivering his music in a live setting. With countless mixtape releases under his belt such as Frac City Vol 1 & 2, After Frac City Vol 1 & 2; The Human Torch, Top Cat, and others Cife Man has solidified himself as a working artist with quality product. With a new project More Fire on the circuit, featuring All I Know, Path to Glory, and Paper Faces Cife is making the exact progress that he planned. His latest release, Go All Out, is one of his finer works and will serve as a great momentum builder as he rolls out viable content for the rest of the summer 2017 including his forthcoming album, Cifenberg.
