LABODEGA: RADIO ICON PACO NAVARRO LOSES BATTLE WITH CANCER @DJGOJABEAN

Manuel “Paco” Navarro, Puerto Rican disc jockey lost his battle to liver cancer August 8th in New York City, in addition to other health complications such as Alzheimer’s.

He is considered to be the most famous announcer in New York, since in the 70’s and 80’s he’s achieved great reception in the Hispanic market as well as in the American market.

Paco, a super radial star, worked at Disco 92 WKTU FM, Radio Jit, Wado and SBS; creator of “Paco Show” for the American audience and “The Paco Navarro Show” for Hispanic listeners.

He was one of the most applauded animators in his actions in the great Latin concerts held at Madison Square Garden, Radio City and other prestigious stages.

Paco Navarro was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, December 26, 1936.

Although many of his colleagues knew about his health condition, his death surprises and saddens the world of Latin entertainment.
