What is your Name? where you’re from and what first got you interested in the entertainment industry?
My name is Smurf G. I’m from a town called Camden, Arkansas aka Queen City. I got interested in the entertainment industry at a very young age watching music videos on BET.
Who and/or what inspires you to create?
How would you describe your sound?
My sound is distinct and country. I don’t sound like anyone else. I try to keep my own style because it’s too much music that sounds the same. I don’t want to sound like anyone else.
What is your creative process like?
I just catch a vibe for my creative process. I don’t try and force it. The mood I’m in and the beat will usually set the mood for me.
What artist(s) would you like to collaborate with?
I would like to work with Fat Joe. He drops heat everytime he releases a project. I’ve always been a fan of his work.
What is one message you would give to your supporters?
Treat Everyday Like A Holiday!!! The way things is going that’s the best message I can give. Cherish life and live it the best way you can.
What is the most talent/skill you have that most people don’t know about?
Folks think I’m really funny. My sister thinks I can be a comedian.
What would you be doing right now, if you weren’t doing music?
If I wasn’t doing music I would just be home with my family, traveling with them and enjoying life.
Who are some artists/people you admire and why?
Rod D, Arkansas Bo, Playa Mone, E Dubb, SouthSide Reggie & Dirty Blac. They showed me how to move as a artist from Arkansas. I watched and studied them do their thang and put on for the state of Arkansas. I can say big named artists made me wanna do music but watching them let me know that I could do it!
What is the best advice you’ve been given?
Once a person show who they is, you gotta believe them. Keep your circle small and everybody ain’t for you.
If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
The way some folks handle business. I’m not perfect at all but I would change the way business is handled. Some folks just ain’t right.
What’s next for you, where would you like to see yourself in the next year?
I see myself in a better position, making better music,better beats and making better connections and plays.
