MUSIC: SkyZoo Releases Single “It’s All Good” From New Album Retropolitian

Brooklyn Lyricist @Skyzoothewriter has dropped the first single “Its All Good” off his latest project  Retropolitan. The highly anticipated forthcoming collaborative project with Legendary Hip-Hop Producer @RealPeteRock. The track screams classic New York Boom Bap and has Rock’s signature written all over it!  According to an interview with Billboard, Sky knew “within 10 seconds” of Rock pressing play he wanted to use the beat for the cut.

Rock States,  “The crazy thing about this beat is that I made it in ’94,’” . “This beat is 25 years old. I never retouched it or re-did it. It came out of the SP-1200. This was when I was making ‘The World Is Yours’ and those sessions.’”

Sky exclaimed “It’s a New York album, but whether or not you’re from New York, you’re going to love it,” he explains after touching on Rock’s everlasting prime of a career in music. “If you love hip-hop, lyricism, and incredible beats, you’re going to love what you’re hearing. [It’s] storytelling and production but it’s not dated.

Retropolitan was recorded in just two weeks at the top of 2019, which was when the 12-track project was originally announced. The joint effort has remained in the mixing stages until they felt it reached perfection for listeners. Simply put, the 36-year-old describes Retro as a “love letter and wake up call to the city.”

The Project is set to be released September 20th and as a fan I personally cant wait…. Stay Tuned!

NEWS: DJ SPINDERELLA VS SALT N PEPA GOES TO MEDIATION

#GetSOM via @MsBoomNYC

Last month DJ Spinderella filed a lawsuit against her former Salt-N-Pepa members seeking monetary compensation for unpaid royalties. On Friday (August 2), a spokesperson for Cheryl “Salt” James and Sandra “Pepa” Denton, Rich French, released a statement revealing the case has been moved to mediation.

“A U.S. District Court Judge in the Dallas District today rejected DJ Spinderella’s requests for immediate relief against Salt-N-Pepa and its management, ordering the case to mediation,” French said in the statement.

We are grateful for the judge’s ruling as Salt-N-Pepa have been extremely generous to Spin over many decades and attempted to settle what amounts to a divorce, both peacefully and without rancor.

In May, Spin revealed she wouldn’t be touring with Salt-N-Pepa as part of the New Kids On The Block: The Mixtape Tour and claimed the other two members had sent her packing.

“I’m deeply saddened to share with all the #SaltnPepa and #Spinderella fans that I will not be performing on the #NKOTB Mixtape Tour,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “Despite my participation in promoting the tour and being highly publicized as one of the acts, in January 2019 I received a ‘termination’ email from #SaltnPepa excluding me from performances with the group.”
