Roger Hill was born and raised in Rochester, New York. From the age of 5, Hill was immersed in music due to his upbringing. His odyssey began singing in churches alongside his sister and under his mother’s guidance.
Early Life
While music was the constant in Roger’s life from the start, other facets of life would soon come calling. Hill would don several hats. He pursued college football, work in construction and a few entrepreneurial endeavors. It was only when he moved to Atlanta that he began to refocus on music.
Musical Style & Vision
Roger Hill style & vision is strongly rooted in R&B with soul and jazz influences. Coining his music as “ROGERHILLMUSIC” he cites an aesthetic of “feel-good” singing, smooth melodies and timeless groove. Hill evokes the nostalgic feeling that music encompasses like no other art form.
Key Achievements & Milestones
In early 2023, Hill scored his first Top 30 R&B hit with the single “Come Back to Me.” The track is a powerful, soulful ballad produced by guitarist Rick Marcel (who has worked with Ron Isley & the Isley Brothers) and Grammy-winning producer Steven Russell of the R&B group Troop. He would follow up in 2024 with the single “Nobody Knows” that mirrors his evolution as an artist.
