Sometimes it’s not your growth that’s the problem; it’s what your growth reminds them of.
As you continue to evolve, some relationships will naturally change as well. Once you’re no longer available at everyone’s convenience or willing to remain the version of yourself they once knew, tension can begin to surface. Unfortunately, that reality isn’t likely to change.
What can change is how you respond to it.

Every day, we interact with people; exchanging energy, emotions, perspectives, and attitudes. It’s a natural part of life. But something shifts when those interactions become personal. Suddenly, what should be simple communication turns complicated. Words get stuck. Feelings go unspoken. And silence starts doing more damage than honesty ever could.
It honestly saddens me how difficult it is for people to communicate with the ones they love the most. The very people we should feel safest with often become the hardest to talk to. Why is that? Fear of conflict? Fear of being misunderstood? Or maybe fear of being too vulnerable

But here’s the truth: if there’s an issue; speak up.
If there’s tension; speak up.
If you feel uncomfortable; SPEAK UP.

Holding everything in doesn’t protect you; it slowly breaks you. That bottled-up hurt, frustration, and confusion? It doesn’t just disappear. It builds, it festers, and eventually, it spills out; often in ways we don’t intend.
Yes, some people make communication difficult. Not everyone creates a safe space for open dialogue. But ask yourself this: is their discomfort worth your silence? Is protecting their feelings worth neglecting your own?
At some point, you have to choose yourself. You have to stop shrinking your voice just to keep the peace. Because peace built on silence isn’t real; it’s temporary.

Speaking up doesn’t mean being harsh or disrespectful; It means being honest. It means giving your feelings a voice and your heart a chance to breathe by standing in your truth, even when your voice shakes.
It won’t always be easy. In fact, most times it won’t be. But growth never comes from comfort zones; it comes from courage.

This week, the worldwide Fleet DJs celebrated its annual Fleet Day; a powerful moment when members across the globe collectively flood social media with flyers, photos, memories, and reflections from their journeys within the coalition. More than just a hashtag, Fleet Day is a shared pause for reflection, gratitude, and appreciation for one another and for the culture we continue to build together.

For me, this celebration hits especially close to home. I’ve been part of the organization for 10 years, and the growth has been nothing short of incredible. I began my journey as a Fleet artist, host, and event organizer. Over time, that path expanded to now dominating the airwaves as on-air talent across multiple stations on the Fleet Radio Network. Along the way, I’ve also become a familiar voice behind DJ drops, commercials, and graphics. Each role sharpened my craft and reinforced the power of consistency, community, and belief.

What truly sets Fleet apart, though, is the family we’ve built. This is a global network of like-minded creatives connected by a shared love for music and culture: DJing, artistry, production, hosting, modeling, and so much more. From city to city and country to country, we are united, supportive, and stronger than ever. The internet may be our bridge, but genuine love for the culture is what keeps us connected.

As we celebrate another year of being Fleet, it’s important to recognize the leadership and the people who make this movement thrive. The Quest Chronicles: Who To Trust Every day, there’s a new brand, a new hustle, and someone trying to make their mark. I truly love what I do in this music industry as a Personality, Journalist, Anchor, and so much more. Over time, I’ve expanded my brand to work with countless clients, helping them take themselves, their music, and their brands to the next level.

One of the greatest joys for me is seeing the look on their faces when they see my work; whether it’s graphic designs, promotions, or branding. I’m in the field that I love, and I know it’s not an easy one.

But here’s the challenge: trust.

By the time people make their way to professionals like myself, many have already been burned. They’ve been promised big results that never came. They’ve been played. So, naturally, they’re hesitant, reluctant, and guarded. That’s where my work goes beyond the creative side; it becomes about building trust.

I spend time having real conversations with potential clients. Answering their questions, I listen to their concerns, and I make sure they feel comfortable. I don’t just tell them I’m different; I show them.

It’s not so different from relationships. When you meet someone who’s been hurt before, it takes patience and consistency to gain their trust. But if it’s the right person, it’s worth it. The Quest Chronicles: Embrace the Shift Life changes every second. Seasons shift every few months. Time never stops moving, and neither should we. As humans, we’re meant to grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Yet, isn’t it strange how uncomfortable people become when we change?

If change is a natural part of life, why do others struggle to accept it in us? The truth is simple: not everyone is ready to evolve. Many people stay where they are because comfort feels safe, even when it’s no longer serving them. So when they see you growing, setting boundaries, or striving for better, it can make them feel uneasy. Your progress reminds them of their stagnation.

Once you stop being at everyone’s beck and call, once you start prioritizing your peace and your purpose; tension tends to appear. Suddenly, you’re “different.” But isn’t that the goal? You should be different. You should be wiser, stronger, and more aware than you were before.

The problem isn’t your growth. The problem is their resistance to it. And that’s okay. Not everyone is meant to go where you’re headed.

If you’re one of those people who are actively changing for the better, keep going. Don’t let the negativity of others pull you backward. Their opinions don’t define your progress. Respectfully remove your energy from those who can’t celebrate your evolution; they simply don’t deserve it.
