Atlanta continues to shape the sound of modern music, and BUCKHEAD BOYZ are adding their own layer to that legacy. Comprised of Terrance-Chavan and Nikita Jackson, the duo merges eclectic R&B and pop with a foundation rooted in church, school bands, and early creative exposure.
Their approach to music balances vision and discipline. Songwriting, for them, isn’t accidental; it’s a craft shaped by faith, experience, and a clear understanding of the business behind the art. Drawing inspiration from icons like Michael Jackson, Prince, and Beyoncé, they aim to build something lasting rather than momentary.
With a 16-city HBCU Spring Break Tour on deck and larger stages in their sights, BUCKHEAD BOYZ are moving with purpose and scale.
We connected with the duo to discuss their beginnings, creative process, industry perspective, and what’s ahead.

Inspiration and Sound
Who or what inspires you to create?
Terrance-Chavan: I see songs and songwriting as gifts. Unique gifts from God. Much like a painter sees a blank canvas, first comes the vision.
How would you describe your sound?
Nikita: Eclectic R&B and pop.
Who are some artists you admire and why?
Michael Jackson, the greatest to ever do it. Showman number one.
Prince’s music transcended genres, labels, and categories. Showman number two.
Beyoncé, she lays it all on the line on stage and created her own lane with loyal fans. Showman number three.
Creative Process and Skill Set
What is your creative process like?
Terrance-Chavan: Most of our recent songs have actually been written in the bathroom. Up to this point, every completed record has been crafted within a space of authenticity and creative freedom, usually within four hours.
What is a talent or skill most people don’t know about?
Terrance-Chavan: I’m a songwriter and well-versed in intellectual property law as it relates to music.
Nikita: I design clothing and embellish my own stage outfits.
Industry Insight and Perspective
What is the best advice you’ve been given?
Trust no one.
If you could improve one thing about the industry, what would it be?
The industry could benefit from something similar to professional sports leagues, a “rites of passage” curriculum to help new artists understand rights, royalties, contracts, and long-term commitments.
Outside of music, what path would you pursue?
Terrance-Chavan: Studying entertainment law.
Nikita: Designing a clothing line.
Vision and Collaboration
What artists would you like to collaborate with?
Breezy, Tyler, Harry Styles, The Weeknd, and the legacy great Journey with Steve Perry, just to name a few.
Where do you see yourselves in the next year?
On a national tour and major award show stages, as recipients.
Message to Supporters
What message would you give to your supporters?
Never, ever give up. Most importantly, never give up on your dreams. Uncertainty is strong, but let your faith drive you forward. Build it, and new friends and new fans will come.
