SO: What’s your Name? where you’re from and what first got you interested in the entertainment industry?

LJ: Luis Javier Morales, I am from Connecticut but my parents are from Aguada, Puerto Rico.  My first interest in music was in 6th grade when I began to take lessons to play the trumpet.

SO: Who and/or what inspires you to create?

LJ: Life and experiences I live through are my major inspiration when writing a song.  But I do occasionally just think of a subject or theme and I start the idea like that.

SO: How would you describe your sound?

LJ: I don’t know if I would pigeon hole my style in one genre.  I was a NYC, Jersey, Connecticut kid so my influences were all different sounds.  From Salsa, Merengue to Rap, Hip Hop to Reggae, Dancehall to Reggaeton and latin rap.  I would say I am a poet and rapper with an aggressive flow but the versatility to try any genre of music.

SO: What is your creative process like?

LJ: To spark my creative process I must be intrigued or inspired by the beat, but if I went thru something that day or recently that may also spark the process to create.  I like to rock to the beat for a bit until an idea naturally hits me for the hook.

SO: What artist(s) would you like to collaborate with?

LJ: There are so many amazing talents but I would say for sure that I would love to collaborate with Damian Marley, Daddy Yankee, Plan B, Don Omar, Jay Z, Alicia Keys.

SO: What is one message you would give to your supporters?

LJ: Never give up on your dreams or doing whatever it is you are most passionate about.  There is no greater joy than waking up everyday and doing what you love to do.  Priceless.

SO: What is the most talent/skill you have that most people don’t know about?

LJ: Besides writing music, I would say writing poetry, I have been published twice and was named one of the best contemporary poets in the world in 2012.  It is often something that very few know about me.

SO: What would you be doing right now, if you weren’t doing music?

LJ: It is hard to imagine myself not involved in the music industry, it may be a surprise, but I have always wanted to own a food truck and cook for people.

SO: Who are some artists/people you admire and why?

LJ: Musically, is Hector Lavoe, due to his incredible musical ability and to have that much drama and craziness going on in his life and to still be able to be a great singer and legend.  Also I admire most is Roberto Clemente, my family are huge baseball fans and my father was a super fan of his and taught me all the other charitable efforts and philanthropy that he did.  He represented Puerto Rico with such honor and pride that it’s no wonder he is held in such high regard on the island till this day.  A true Puerto Rican legend.

SO: What is the best advice you’ve been given?

LJ: Not to force things and let things flow like a river.

SO: If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

LJ: Wow, I mean that list can be long, number one is the exploitation of our people, the stereotyping and other nonsense that is glorified in the industry nowadays; every artist has fallen victim to the trends and B.S. at some point though. I would love to change things back to where true talent was appreciated and cultivated.

SO: What’s next for you, where would you like to see yourself in the next year?

LJ: Well next for me is to get my new label Guerrero Entertainment off the ground, release my first solo album and eventually sign and cultivate new artists helping them navigate and avoid the problems that arise in this industry .

SO: What is your social media? How can people get in contact with you?

LJ: Booking info: lacomisionrecords@gmail.com, Instagram: @luis_jtv , Facebook: Luis J Morales, La Comision Records ,Twitter: @luisjtv
