James Allen Worthy on March 28, 1992, in Queens, New York. Artissen draws heavily from city life, its nightlife, ambition, and emotional depth, elements that now shape his signature sound.

Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, producer, and audio engineer James Artissen has built a career defined by mood, precision, and purpose.


However , inspired at age 16 after meeting the late Michael Jackson at Webster Hall, Artissen committed fully to music. After relocating to Atlanta, he developed his craft through a high school. However , did a mentoring program sponsored by Dallas Austin. James did focus on songwriting before expanding into production and vocals. He earned a bachelor’s degree in audio production from The Art Institute of Atlanta , laying the technical foundation that would fuel his rise.


In 2017, James stepped into the spotlight as part of the duo Kings X2. The debut single “Wine For Me” peaked at #10 on the US Billboard Hot Single Sales Chart. Transitioning to a solo career . He released “Move” featuring Whodini, by his critically acclaimed EP Blu Leisure in 2019.

The project, featuring Tony Terry, Sonna Rele, Kalenna Harper, and Whodini, positioned Artissen as a standout voice in contemporary R&B.


Continued his momentum with Kaleidoscopes. In 2023 partnered with Big Gipp of Goodie Mob for the EP Gipp N Worthy. The lead single “TOTW” charted on the Billboard R&B Digital Sales Chart and reached #1 on Amazon Best Sellers.


Beyond his own releases, Artissen has earned multiple Grammy nominations through work with artists including Meek Mill, Justin Bieber, Robin S., 112, Raphael Saadiq, and J. Holiday. In 2024, he launched Humble Sound Records in partnership with Sony Orchard. Expanding his impact as a label owner and creative executive.

Gaining national attention, and strengthening his industry footprint in the industry. James was establishing a recognizable presence.

Blending contemporary R&B, pop-rap, and hip-hop with atmospheric, late-night themes, James Artissen continues to define a sound that is stylish, immersive, and built for longevity.
