Hey Whats Good SO Family! on this feature we caught up with P Butta! A Rapper out of Orlando Florida.

SO: What is your stage name ? Where you from and what got you into the entertainment business

PB: P-Butta aka Butta 2 Da P. I’m from Illinois but now reside in Orlando, Florida. I first became interested in the music/entertainment industry when my parents introduced me to hip hop music. I liked it from the start. As I started to grow I found more appreciation for music. As I became of age I decided I wanted to make music.

SO: Who and/or what inspired you to create ?

PB: Inspiration can be drawn from anything. A friend, a movie, an emotion or just a sound. I draw inspiration from anywhere. It just has to move me.

SO: How would you describe your sound?

PB: Hip Hop for sure. Although I like to have fun in my music, I am big on lyricism. I like melody and harmonies as well. To sum it up, I would say my sound is a conscious new age wave of rap.

SO: What is your creative process like?

PB: It varies. I can start to write a song and if I’m in a zone I won’t stop until the song is finished. If I write a song and can’t finish it, I won’t force it. I like for the feeling to find me. I don’t go find it!

SO: What artist(s) would you like to collaborate with?

PB: J.Cole, Wale, Wiz Khalifa, Big Krit, Lupe Fiasco. Just to name a few.

SO: What is one message you would give to your supporters?

PB: “Thank God For The Day”. Everyday above ground is a good day. But what you do with that day is what makes it great.

SO: What is a talent/skill you have that most people don’t know about?

PB: I can direct. A director if you will. I found a knack for video. Then later found out that I love visual aid. So much that I started to study video, cinema and everything that comes with it. One of my new found talents.

SO: What would you be doing right now, if you weren’t doing music?

PBGoing to college for sure. I always liked psychology and things like that as well. I thought about being a therapist just because I like to talk and help people.  Or I would’ve taken over the family business to honor my late great father.

SO: Who are some artists/people you admire and why?

PB: My parents, Jay Z, Barack Obama, Nipsey Hussle, Kobe Bryant and some others.

SO: What is the best advice you’ve been given?

PB: Be none except yourself.

SO: If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

PB: The gatekeepers. I would change that so that the people who grew up in the culture of Hip Hop can become the gatekeepers. That way they can protect the culture from becoming sabotaged or becoming something that it’s not.

SO: What’s next for you, where would you like to see yourself in the next year?

PB: As long as I’m alive I’m grateful. Aside from that, I plan on releasing more music as well as videos. Traveling a lot more and tapping into collaborations. More goals, more love and more wins.

SO: What is your social media? How can people get in contact with you?

Thank you P Butta for being So Official! Make sure yall follow and support!
