THE QUEST CHRONICLES: SPEAK UP! Is this mic on because I have something to say. In life we deal with people on the regular; experiencing a variety of emotions, attitudes, hearing different perspectives, etc. Things change when dealing with people on a personal level because communication is a struggle.

It still saddens me to this day that it’s so hard for people to communicate with their loved ones. If there is an issue; speak up! If there is tension; Speak Up. If you’re uncomfortable; SPEAK UP!

Yes, some make it hard to comfortably converse with them but is it worth you holding all that hurt and tension inside? Sometimes you have to stop sparing your own feelings to protect others. Easier said than done but you have to take the first step.

The Quest Chronicles: Do Your Work! If you haven’t noticed, this is the year of hustlers, go getters and grinders. Many people who used to live paycheck to paycheck have side hustles now. The Pandemic has opened their eyes. At the same time, for the ones that were going hard before are going even harder now. I see more people teaming up & collaborating for a better cause. Whether we like to admit it or not, we need each other to fully thrive in this world.

If you are still a team of one, that’s not a bad thing because as you patiently wait for the proper teammates, do like I did; outsource and hire staff members. Whatever you’re selling or trying to get out there, find the right people in their field to help you get it out to the masses. I’m talking about coming up with a business plan, hiring a graphic designer (such as myself) for promo flyers, business cards, media for coverage and do whatever you have to do to get the word out there. Sitting at home, doing nothing will not bring you clientele.

There’s a lot of people out there that can help you but you have to take the first step. Yes, it’s hard to know who to rely on but business is all about risk taking so are you ready to take that risk? Do your research, check reviews or have someone as amazing as myself, who is connected in the business to help point you in the right direction. There’s a lot of money out there for all of us so let’s get it together!

Yes, many of us grind and handle business on our own but in most cases it’s like a lifted burden when you have someone on your team to help you. This goes for friendships, business-ships as well as intimate relationships. 


If you are one of the lucky ones to find the right people to be in a partnership with, make sure you appreciate them. Keep the lines of communication open, stay respectful and be aware they’re here to help lift you up and not tear you down. With the right partner by your side, sky’s the limit!  THE QUEST CHRONICLES: INDEPENDENT ARTISTS I’ve been working in the music entertainment industry for almost 20 years and I’ve experienced many things. I’ve been a radio personality for about 10 years and I have had the chance to interview many artists from independent to mainstream amongst other incredible people. With the climate of music changing especially in our culture; I started to become a little nervous about the direction music is heading. I’m ok with music evolving but like many of my peers; we’re just bored with all the music sounding exactly the same. 


In my field I come to find out that it’s actually not. There’s a lot of independent music that shows diversity and they’re producing the content many of us have been waiting to hear for a long time. It’s up to us to stop relying on only syndicated radio or mainstream television to dictate the music we should only be listening to. There’s so many digital and independent stations playing the music you desire such as my station Gotta Love Me Radio. We play a variety  to cater to a diverse audience. 


Independent artists deserve a chance just like mainstream artists. They work so hard to be heard and sometimes the professional, talented & unique artists get lost in the shuffle and we have to stop that. Their music is worth listening to and I encourage you all to take time to hear them as well. 


To all the independent artists out here, continue following your dreams and if you’re creating music that people actually want to hear; reach out to my team so we can help shine a light on it. We need you just as much as you need us. Let’s bring diversity back to the music so we all can be happy.

There’s many singers who can sing but Ny’Aira can SANG! She started singing professionally at age 6. Like many of us, she started singing in church, getting the hang of performing in front of people, learning how to work a mic, found her voice and what speaks to her. What sealed the deal was the movie Double Platinum featuring Diana Ross & Brandy. It was then that she realized singing is what she wants to do.

Being a college graduate and having a background in audio production has really helped her polish her sound. T-QUEST MUSIC REVIEW: Harmony Devoe is a breath of fresh air. I’ve watched her movement on social media and was quite impressed! I can tell she has mastered the algorithms which is not easy. I saw her as a go-getter and an artist that’s about business. When I spoke to her however, I fell in love with her even more! She’s so down to earth, easy to talk to, has a great personality and sense of humor. She has all the qualities of someone I would love to learn from, work with & build a friendship with.
