Lil Durk has taken to his Instagram stories to express how much he’d like for SZA to be on this album. He also told SZA supporters to tag her, to know how much he’s interested in this potential collaboration.

Lil Durk continues to be one of the biggest rappers in the game, as he’s working on his upcoming eighth studio album. The Chicago has already revealed an artist that he really wants to be featured on this project.

“@SZA the goat. Y’all bet not sleep or get blind. Every female every car every sale she really her… I need you on my album ASAP. A hit not a regular song. Go tag SZA blow her s**t down. Tell her Smurk need her.”

Durk’s last project came in 2022, which was his “7220” album. That became his first number one solo album on the Billboard 200 chart, and was led by his “Ahh Haa” and “Broadway Girls” featuring Morgan Wallen singles. Durk also collaborated with Future, Gunna, Summer Walker, and more.

MAGIC JOHNSON is making news as the former Los Angeles Lakers legend continues to win off of the court. TMZ is reporting that he has teamed up with Josh Harris, owner of the Philadelphia 76ers to finalize a deal to acquire the Washington Commanders. The numbers on the deal were $6.05 billion.

Johnson adds another team to his gauntlet like he was Thanos going for Infinity Stones. The Commanders are the first non-L.A. based team he has vested in. Heavy.com reports that he has been adding to his portfolio of sports teams in recent years. These team include the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Sparks & LAFC soccer teams.

Former owner of the Commanders Dan Snyder agreed to sell the team Thursday. $6 billion dollars is a lot to invest in a team that hasn’t seen much of a turnaround since changing their name. Lil Durk Launches the Durk Banks Endowment Fund with Howard University and Amazon Music

Lil Durk Groundbreaking Initiative to Help Outstanding Students

Hip-hop superstar Lil Durk has recently announced a groundbreaking initiative to help outstanding students from his hometown of Chicago attend Howard University. Together with Rotation, Amazon Music’s R&B and hip-hop brand, and Neighborhood Heroes. A non-profit organization founded by the rapper, the Durk Banks Endowment Fund aims to provide two deserving students with $50,000 scholarships to attend the prestigious Historically Black College & University (HBCU) located in Washington, D.C. In addition to the two scholarships. Neighborhood Heroes and Lil Durk have also pledged to donate $250,000 to support students from Chicago. Who are recipients of Howard’s Graduation Retention Access to Continued Excellence (GRACE) Grant. The grant provides financial assistance to students who have the greatest financial need. With the goal of helping them stay in school and graduate on time.

WHAT’S GOING ON?

Sources with direct knowledge have reported that Jamie Foxx, the Grammy and Oscar-winning actor. Was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday morning. after suffering a “medical emergency.” His family, including his daughter Corinne Foxx, has confirmed that he is now on the mend and doing much better. Although the exact nature of his condition is still unknown, it was serious enough to warrant hospitalization and has kept him under medical care for a few more days.

It’s still unclear how Jamie discovered the complication or if he was experiencing symptoms that prompted him to get checked out. Diaz has been on hiatus from the silver screen since her last starring role in 2014, where she worked alongside Jamie in “Annie.”

38 SPESH is back in the kitchen.

Spesh, originally known as 38 Special, has been rapping since the early 2000s. In 2006, he appeared on Alive on Arrival, a mixtape by early supporter and fellow Rochester product DJ Green Lantern. By the end of that decade, Spesh had headlined a couple Lantern-presented tapes.

After serving time in prison he returned in 2012 with Time Served. This began a constant dispersal of studio projects that continued through the end of 2010. Along with numerous solo releases, Spesh showcased artists on his TCF Music Group label with the Trust Tape series.

He has blessed mics with Benny the Butcher (Cocaine Cowboys and Stabbed & Shot), Joe Blow (In the Mob We Trust), and Kool G Rap (the cross-generational Son of G Rap). Spesh closed out his second decade of activity with a handful of solo tapes, highlighted by A Bullet for Every Heathen.

Some of the grimmest and lucid street tales from post-2000 New York state underground have been spun by 38 Spesh. A boom-bap disciple with over two dozen solo and collaborative projects. Time Served (2012), Stabbed & Shot (2018), A Bullet for Every Heathen (2019), and 7 Shots (2022).

He’s worked closely with fellow Upstate natives such as Benny the Butcher and Che Noir, and has recorded with influences including Kool G Rap, Ghostface Killah, and DJ Premier.

Especially prolific in 2020, Spesh was behind at least ten titles that year alone, teaming with the likes of Che Noir and Planet Asia for numerous duo projects, and offering solo releases ranging from the instrumental set Speshal Blends to Interstate 38.

Spesh linked again with Benny the Butcher for Trust the Sopranos in 2021, and the next year issued the solo 7 Shots.

Jhené Aiko Releases “Calm & Patient” Single

Jhené Aiko is ushering in a new era with the lush, powerful new single “Calm & patient.” The track is her first new solo song since 2021’s “Wrap Me Up.”

Over beds of synthesizers and minimal percussion, Aiko waxes poetically on the joys of life. She sings, “I’m satisfied with life/ I do not just get by, I thrive/ What a miracle to be up and alive/ Sending love to those who are stuck in the fight.” Listen to the uplifting new anthem below.

Jhené Aiko trended heavily in 2022, after announcing her second pregnancy. She had this child with Big Sean, as she’s been dating him since 2016. As a result, Aiko and Sean announced that this is a son, and went on to be born in November. They also unveiled that his name is Noah.

Aiko has been quiet, last emerging to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her debut mixtape Sailing Soul(s) by releasing the project on streaming services for the first time ever.

“This mixtape was a pivotal moment for me,” Aiko wrote on Twitter. She explained the story of Sailing Soul(s), saying: “When Was 12 I was signed to a label, singing songs I have no real connection to. Besides that, I had no real stories of my own to tell at 12. Then I took a break to focus on school. In my teens, I was signing demo records and taking meetings.

I met with one record exec who told me I needed to do a better job at ‘selling’ myself when I came into meetings. Dressing like myself, singing like myself, talking like myself… wasn’t enough. I thought, why do I have to sell myself? Why do I have to try to convince you of my worth? Of who I am?”

The cover art for Sailing Soul(s) features Aiko standing in the ocean holding onto chains that are wrapped around her wrists and waist. “I wanted the cover to express me breaking free from that narrative of having to “sell” myself. I wanted the broken chains to symbolize that freedom of feeling unanchored… free to be me, going with the flow… going with the wind like a sail boat… freeing my soul… “sailing” my soul instead of “selling” my soul.”
